Delete your Paw Khim account
You can delete your account yourself, from this page or inside the app. It takes effect immediately and does not need our approval.

This page signs you in once, with your normal Paw Khim password, purely to prove the account is yours. Nothing is stored on this device and you are not signed in anywhere afterwards.
Your account has been deleted
Sign-in access is gone immediately and you have been signed out.
Your photos are queued for removal from storage. They cannot be reached through the app or this site any more, but two caveats are worth knowing: a link that was already issued before deletion keeps working until it expires (at most about ten minutes), and the files themselves are deleted when the storage cleanup job next runs, which is on a separate schedule.
If you expected to keep anything, it cannot be recovered. You are welcome to create a new account, which will start empty.
Or delete it in the app
- Open Paw Khim and go to Profile.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read what will be removed, then type DELETE to confirm.
- Re-enter your password. This proves the request is yours.
- Tap Delete my account.
You are signed out as soon as the deletion is confirmed. If the app cannot confirm the result — usually a dropped connection — it says so plainly and never retries on its own.
What actually happens
Deletion is not one switch. Here is the honest version.

| Adoption enquiries and conversations | Closed. A conversation where you were the only other participant is removed. Other conversations are kept for the person still using the app, with your identity removed and contact details in the message text redacted. |
| Published lost & found reports | Retained in anonymised form for their retention period, without your account attached. The report no longer renders your photo, and its stored photo reference is cleared. |
| Resolution request notes you wrote | Redacted immediately. Email addresses and phone numbers are replaced. The remaining text is cleared 90 days after the request was created — whether or not a moderator has decided it yet. The moderator's record of the decision is kept. |
| Photos in storage | Queued for deletion. Access stops immediately: the storage rule that allowed the image to be read requires the report to still be active and not anonymised, so it no longer matches. The files are then deleted when the storage cleanup job runs, on its own schedule — not at the same instant, and not at a time this page can promise. A signed link handed out before deletion cannot be revoked; it stops working when it expires, within about ten minutes. |
Deletion cannot be undone. If you later create a new account it starts empty; nothing from the old one is restored.
How this page performs the deletion safely
- The account is identified by your sign-in, not by anything typed into this page. The server reads the account from the verified session, so a request cannot be altered to name someone else.
- Only a publicly shareable key is used here. The key that actually performs deletion stays on the server and is never sent to your browser.
- Nothing is remembered. Your password is cleared as soon as the attempt finishes, and the sign-in lasts only as long as the request — it is not saved in this browser.
- Failures are never retried for you. If the connection drops, the page tells you the result is unknown rather than guessing.
If you are not sure it worked
A deletion request can fail in a way that leaves the outcome unknown — the request may have completed before the connection broke. In that situation:
- Open the app and try to sign in with your old password.
- If sign-in fails, the account is gone. Nothing further is needed.
- If sign-in succeeds, the account still exists and you can delete it again.
- If you cannot tell, contact us and we will check for you.
